In this article, we provide a high level overview of credit card processing important in SAP SD. Credit cards have been fast replacing the usage of other modes of payments. Credit card processing is now a basic need of every SAP customer and the SAP R/3 system aptly offers the following functions in Sales & Distribution (SAP SD) module:
- Ability to store encrypted card information in the master records
- Integrate credit card processing in the sales, delivery and billing processes
- Handle scenarios involving multiple cards, down payments etc.
Configuring the SAP FI component will enable carrying out settlement with the clearing houses. Established Interfaces like Paymentech are available for carrying out the settlement.
