Eliminating Repetitive Steps to Improve Process Efficiency.
In all organizations there is a systematic process followed for the delivery of goods when a sales order is placed. Same goes for warehouses as well where dedicated softwares are created to speed up movement of goods.
As in every SAP solution, there is room for error here as well.
Traditionally, movement of goods means multiple processes and adherences to regulations. Warehouse operators have to follow traditional long process because SAP doesn’t provide solution for this. And much to the dismay of the owners, these contribute to delay in the movement of the goods. So, there’s room for improvement in traditional SAP WMS solutions.
The SAP Warehouse Management system (WMS) provides flexible, automated support in processing all goods movements and in managing stocks in the warehouse complex. The system supports scheduled and efficient processing of all logistics processes within your warehouse.
As a business process, during the placement of the sales order of the customer, delivery has to be saved initially. In SAP, if the delivery process is integrated with Warehouse management, user will have to use LT03 transaction code to get transfer order confirmation after the delivery is saved.
Sometimes, organizations require an automated system to transfer the order after saving delivery. So, in this case the users wishes not to enter the details(Warehouse no., Order no.) to access the ‘Warehouse Management’ each time a sales order was placed.
However, this can be a problem if huge workload is considered. As there can be a number of sales orders, users will waste considerable time using LT03 each time to access the Warehouse Management. Thus, an automated process is highly desired.
Our SAP consultants create ingenious methods to such problems. We make a back-end enhancement which helps in providing a transaction screen automatically with all the necessary details already filled in after saving the delivery. It is achieved through a combination of SAP SD and SAP ABAP .
Now, since the process is automated, there’s less time consumed in completing the sales order. As soon as the delivery is saved, users do not have to enter any of the details manually, instead the warehouse details are accessed automatically. This helps in saving a lot of time and efforts. And since there is now zero room for human errors, efficiency improves as well.
